I accept commissions for portraits, landscapes/seascapes/skyscapes, fantasy illustrations, and graphics.

The media for fine art are generally pastel (full color) or charcoal/conté pencil (duotone). Graphics and electronic art are created using Adobe Creative Suite.

Drawings can be done from live models (restrictions apply) or from photos that are the sole property of the person commissioning the artwork. Drawings can be done on matte board (sturdier than paper) or on paper (ease in shipping/transporting larger pieces). In some instances, oil paint and other media may also be available. Sizes generally start at 11" x 14" and go up to 32" x 40", but exceptions may be possible.

Preserving and Caring for Artwork
Finished pastel/charcoal/conté pieces are sprayed with fixative, which helps protect the art. Even so, take care not to rub, smear, dampen, or otherwise disturb the surface of the drawing because pastels and charcoal can be sensitive to pressure, friction, moisture, and/or heat.  All finished pieces should be covered with glass or other clear protection before artwork is hung in an area shielded from prolonged direct sunlight.

Shared Agreement
I will discuss with the customer via email and phone the work to be commissioned and will respond to a commission query with a proposal outlining subject matter, theme, palette, media, size, style, price, and any other important criteria before beginning work.  All prices quoted are for unmatted, unframed artwork and do not include packaging and shipping costs. Large pieces may incur additional charges for extra material costs.

Contract Terms
Once the proposal has been agreed upon, both the customer and I will sign it and retain
a copy of the contract.  A non-refundable down payment of 25% of the total cost of the piece will be paid by the customer at the beginning of the project to cover materials and labor invested. The remaining 75% of the cost of the piece is due upon delivery of the piece.

Timelines
At the time the commission is contracted, an estimated timeline will be provided. Creating my artwork requires adequate time to produce excellent quality; allow adequate time for a commission. The timeline must remain reasonably flexible to ensure that the finished art meets the standards expected by both the customer and the artist.
